Un'altra amicizia persa lungo il cammino è Beate, una Bowie fan tedesca che mi ospitò per circa una settimana a Berlino nei mitici anni ottanta.

Questa è una sua foto proprio davanti al muro, che i fans di Bowie capitati  in città  non mancavano di  visitare e, anche, di lasciarvi sù  qualche scritta.  Magari sentendosi anche loro eroi solo per un giorno ...

Questo libro americano di Harold Schechter e David Everitt soddisfa ogni interesse o qualsivoglia morbosa, o meno, curiosità attorno al terrificante mondo degli omicidi seriali. Quello che sconvolge oltre tutto il resto, è che anche loro, i serial killers, hanno i loro 'fans' e le loro groupies, proprio come le rock stars ...  Il necrofilo di mezza età Ed Gein (l'originale 'Psycho',  e che ha ispirato anche  'Silence of the Lambs') riceveva in carcere lettere da donne che  chiedevano ciocche dei suoi capelli ...

Uno dei miei libri preferiti del genere Crime/Mystery, 'The Penguin Encyclopedia of Crime', pubblicato ovviamente dalla Peguin Books e scritto da Oliver Cyriax.

Circa 660 pagine, £ 9.99, è un compendium dei casi più famigerati della storia e dei criminali più noti, da Jack the Ripper a Jeffrey Dahmer, con tante foto in b/n. 

Tra le oltre 1000 entries in ordine alfabetico, c'è anche il caso Marilyn Monroe, con diverse interessanti teorie.

Di Milo Speriglio,  e Chain Media Inc, pubblicato da Corgi Book, £ 2.99.

L'autore è il direttore della Nick Harris Detectives di Los Angeles e il libro, di circa 170 interessantissime  pagine,   è frutto di tredici anni di ricerche e di lavoro investigativo. Contiene 2 inserti centrali di foto in b/n, tra cui un paio della camera da letto di Marilyn, fotografata il giorno dopo della sua tragica scomparsa.   

Questa è una delle biografie più famose, 'Goddess' di Anthony Summers.

Circa 600 pagine con due inserti centrali di foto in b/n, contiene la scioccante immagine di Marilyn dopo l'autopsia, proveniente dagli archivi della polizia, la cui pubblicazione si è rivelata controversa. 

Pubblicato dalla Sphere Book s Ltd della Penguin Group, è un'edizione aggiornata con nuove rivelazioni,  £ 3.95.

Questo invece è di circa 220 pagine e contiene un inserto centrale con splendide foto a colori di George Barris. Si tratta dell'ennesima biografia, scritta da Gloria Steinem, che come suggerisce anche il titolo, è 'dedicata alla vera Marilyn'. 

Inizialmente pubblicato negli USA nel 1986 da Henry Holt & Company Inc.  questa edizione  è inglese, della Vista Edition Paperback,  £ 5.99

Questo è uno dei miei libri preferiti su Marilyn, sarà per la foto in copertina ...

E' di Peter Brown & Patte Barham, e, come recita il sottotitolo, è   'The ultimate Monroe biography'. 

Inizialmente pubblicato in Inghilterra nel 1992, questa edizione è del 1993, pubblicata dalla Mandarin Paperbacks.  

£ 5.99 per  quasi 500 pagine, contiene 2 sezioni di splendidi scatti in bianco e nero,  con tante informazioni e rivelazioni interessanti da documenti mai pubblicati prima.

is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's
wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.

Mi lasciano perplessa ogni volta, che intuizioni!

Sono certa che è proprio così, gli altri vedono solo il mio lato poco serioso e immaturo, è sempre accaduto. E suppongo che ora che mi diletto con questo blog la cosa non faccia altro che accentuarsi, proprio ieri ho avuto uno scambio di opinioni poco amichevole con qualcuno che aveva voglia di fare del sarcasmo fuori luogo.

Le persone non sono mai come sembrano a prima vista, le persone sono 'multistrato', sarebbe come giudicare un libro dalla copertina  ... Il che può accadere, capita a me per prima. L'importante è sapersi ricredere.

Live Earth Concert ci sarà anche l'Italia a far sentire la propria voce? Nel mondo ci sono dei concerti fantastici oggi perchè il pianeta Terra chiama ...  E' possibile vedere il Live Earth  su Msn .

Da qui tutto quello che ho potuto fare è stato solo firmare la petizione e unirmi al movimento globale per poter agire contro il clima in crisi, ripromettendomi tutta una serie di cose per contribuire nel mio piccolo.

Il nome di tutti quelli che hanno firmato rispondendo alla chiamata passerà sullo schermo durante il concerto. Credo che sia un'iniziativa gloriosa ! 

Un'altra petizione interessante che ho firmato oggi è quella sull'Hydrogen Revolution i cui promotori sono due italiani,  Stefano Pino & Massimo D'Onofrio, anche questa rivolta a tutti noi, cittadini della Terra.
